Weekend recap


What a weekend. I love four day weekend anyway, but when they include a family wedding...amazing. I flew home late Thursday night, just ran a few errands on Friday before ordering Aston Palace (some of my fave home takeout) and watching a movie.

Saturday was the big day. Up early to get my hair done. If you know me, you know all I am capable of is drying my hair and/or putting it in a ponytail for a run. I wanted better than that. And honestly, what girl doesn't love getting their hair done. Well, besides my twin.The rest of the day is a blur. I went home and got dressed and twin and I left for the ceremony. It was a beautiful mass. With some time to kill between then and the reception some of us headed to the bar, before going to Harry Savoy's where the reception was. And since I will not be able to do it justice, take a look at our night in the photos below.

So. I stayed at twin's house. And she decorates for every holiday. Loves to decorate. And there's always candy around. How the heck was I supposed to know that the candy corn on the mantle was one year old?!?
I might have eaten some one year old candy corn. Just a little stale.

Weekend

I love weekends. I wish they were longer...doesn't everybody? It was quite the lazy weekend too, being that it was so hot out. I ran Sunday...kind of. It was so hot, I hadn't had enough water, or food for that matter, so I cut my run short. And then we opted to eat out instead of cooking. I really need to cook this week. And maybe not drink. Except I have half a bottle of red left over from last night's Bachelorette finale fiesta with E.  Monday. Oh Monday. Cancelled my run once again when the car told me it was 102 outside. Can't wait to be able to run in the mornings. Last night was the Bachelorette season finale so E came over for dinner and some wine. I now love sweet potatoes and I may have had a little too much to drink. And then decided it was a good time to update my iOS on my iphone. Weekend recap

I actually went out! Friday afternoon G text me did I want to go to dinner. Obviously the answer was yes. I have a great time with him and we can talk track for hours. I'm always early when I go to dinner with G bc I don't want to go home first, but we don't usually meet until 6:30pm. So I was early again Friday and sat in my car, with the heat on, reading. When he got there, I got out and we started to walk in only to see a sign that said closed for private party! You have got to be kidding me. I feel like their facebook should have mentioned that. So we walked across the street to some bbq place. BBQ in Texas is different. And, I think, not in a good way. I've been a few times and I don't think I need to go again. But it was a small place and we were taking up a needed table, so a while after we were done we headed down the road to Starbucks. And were there until they closed. Insurance process

Ok, so who has ever had their place broken into? First I filed the police report. Then after I actually had a handle on what really was missing I amended the police report. I gathered all of the documentation I could find for the things that were missing - it's amazing how often I just throw away the receipts - and sent that along with an itemized list to the insurance company. Now what? How long will this take? The one guy I spoke to said that they have 15 days to process the claim, but that it usually gets done sooner. Will I hear from them in the meantime? I called my new apartment complex yesterday. I am supposed to be moving on August 31 but naturally I want to get out of here as soon as possible. They told me the current tenant moves out on the 19th and that they may be able to get me in that weekend - the 24th or 25th. They were going to check on a few things and let me know. That would be fantastic. I'm not necessarily afraid to be in my current apartment. But I...
