Catching up. Again

I have been a pretty bad blogger this year. Thirty-one posts and we are nearing the end of November. Sometimes my heart just wasn't in it, sometimes I was just busy and sometimes I didn't have anything to say. But I don't want to give up on my little blog just yet. I know there are at least a few people out there who like to read what I write, so I'll try and keep at it. 57 days from race day and things are getting pretty busy over here. But this year I'm trying to keep up with running, yoga and cooking while still getting all my work done. And. Now I have Lola to play with. I had all the intentions of working last night once I realized I didn't have any plans. But after dinner when I was on the couch, she crawled onto my lap and I couldn't/wouldn't make her move. We just hung out for a few hours catching up on my dvr. Scrolling through my pics from the last few weeks, how could I forget to post about the day that turned into a Friends episode...I

The Holidays Are Coming

One week from today is Thanksgiving and 36 days from today is Christmas. and I still don't know what I am doing for either one. Race day is 58 days away and I have some major deadlines looming. I swear it was just June like three days ago. This will be the fourth year in a row that I haven't gone home for Thanksgiving and I am mostly ok with that. Especially since my family won't even be home for it. They are having Thanksgiving in Colorado. Yes, I was invited. No, I am unfortunately not going. I thought long and hard about it. I've been looking at flights for forever. Tried to move past the irrational jealousy...I have lived away from home for 10 years and the fam has never come to me for a holiday. The twin has lived away from home for three months. And Thanksgiving is in her state this year. But that's not why I'm not going. Mostly. This is an insanely busy time of year for me. Did I mention the race is in 58 days? My overall to do list takes up 1.5 p

Back in NYC

Last week I traveled to New York for the 2015 TCS NYC Marathon. I don't think I'd been in Manhattan since my days with NBCO. It was good to be back, but seeing as it was a work trip there was not much free time to be had. I got in Thursday early afternoon, checked into my hotel and headed straight to the media center to pick up my credentials and check in with SPS, who was running things there and will be running things in my media center in January. We caught up for a few minutes and then I had to head back to my hotel to get some work done. The 50 blocks I walked in those few hours were going to have to count for the days run bc there was no way I was going on one. Friday I spent the day working in the media center, helping with the elite athlete interviews and whatever else they needed. I got back to my hotel just in time to dump my computer off and head to a work dinner. Saturday was full of meetings. And Sunday was race day. I was up and at the media center by 6:30am.
