Who doesn't love a three-day weekend? I certainly do.
Friday was hot yoga followed by reading outside. It was a beautiful day. I met E at My Fit Foods just after lunch time. We decided to do a five day challenge (we did the 21 day back in November) for a multitude of reasons. We both want to get back to eating healthier and we both have things we want to lose weight for. For me - my family decided they want to have professional family photos taken while I'm home. Not much else got done on Friday. More reading and some bad tv.
Saturday was all about food. I met E and A for an 11 mile long run. That nobody really wanted to do. And let me tell you, it was a loooong run. I think the only reason I do long runs is for the brunch afterwards. We went to Max's Wine Dive and it was ah-mazing. I had the eggs Max, E had the bacon bacon omelet and we split a half order of the creme brulee french toast. Clearly the mff challenge hadn't started yet.
After a nap and some shopping (to find an outfit for the photos) I met E and her parents for dinner Uchi. Also ah-mazing. They call themselves a Contemporary Japanese dining & sushi restaurant. The menu was insane, pairing a lot of Eastern and Western style foods together. let's see if I can remember what we had. To start - uchiviche (salmon, striped bass, tomato, bell pepper, garlic, cilantro) and maguro sashimi and goat cheese (bigeye tuna, pumpkin seed oil, fuji apple) and brussels sprouts (crispy brussels sprouts, lemon chili). Then walu walu (oak-grilled escolar, candied citrus, yuzupon, myoga) and two other dishes I can't find on the menu. Plus a spicy crunchy tuna (bigeye tuna, avocado, jalapeno, cucumber) with the jalapeno on the side. And we finished with fried milk (chocolate milk, toasted milk, iced milk sherbet). Everything was delicious.
Finally on Sunday the five day challenge started. When you do a My Fit Foods Challenge, you get three meals and two snacks a day. That's the only food you can eat and you can only drink water. Unless you are also doing the cleanse and then you can drink that too - cranberry juice, apple cider vinegar, flavored b12 and juice from half a lemon. The taste takes some getting used to. And you're supposed to eat every 2-3 hours. I drank a ton of water, read outside again and then did hot yoga.
I love long weekends. Next time I get one I will be on my way home! 11 Days to go!
