Here's What 5.13.19

I could keep apologizing for going MIA on my blog, but let's be real. It's going to continue to happen anyway. I'll post when I can and when I have something to say and hope that people still want to read it :)

Here's what three things I've been obsessed with this week...

I just ordered this dress that I have been looking at for weeks. It gets so hot in Houston in the summer that it's nice to have options besides jeans/shorts/pants to wear when it's a thousand degrees outside.

So there are more fights on tonight and I'm having people over again. I think this time though there needs to be more pizza and less snacky food and liquor. Beer and wine for days, no problem. But with all the liquor we had the last time and mostly light food...it was not the best combo. So I stocked up on some pizza crusts at the Fresh Market's store closing sale (so sad!) and will make a variety of pizza and flatbreads, but still have some hummus and maybe some cheese and artichoke pesto.

Veuve is in Austin this weekend as part of their Clicquot Journey tour. They were originally supposed to be in Houston, then it changed about a month ago to Austin with Htown getting pushed to September. I was *this close* to just booking a hotel room in Austin and heading over there to enjoy the bubbles...but it's a busy weekend and everyone has plans. There are just some things I won't do solo.

Here's what: August 15

Here's what three things I'm obsessed with this week... If you haven't seen this photo of Usain Bolt winning the men's 100m at the IAAF World Championships, you might be living under a rock. There are five sessions, and some pretty good events, left to go at Worlds. And Team USA is currently sitting atop the medal table with a total of 10 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze. So...I joined a local running club. And I signed up for the marathon training program! Not that I'm signed up for an actual marathon or anything. This particular training group is training for my race, so I can't exactly run that. There are weekly track sessions and long runs are on Saturdays. The program lasts for 22 weeks. Well but we've already missed two weeks bc of other commitments. E and I will be doing this together. We'll see how this goes.  Towards the end of September is something called Social Media Week. It is a leading media platform and worldwide event ...

Weekend

I love weekends. I wish they were longer...doesn't everybody? It was quite the lazy weekend too, being that it was so hot out. I ran Sunday...kind of. It was so hot, I hadn't had enough water, or food for that matter, so I cut my run short. And then we opted to eat out instead of cooking. I really need to cook this week. And maybe not drink. Except I have half a bottle of red left over from last night's Bachelorette finale fiesta with E.  Monday. Oh Monday. Cancelled my run once again when the car told me it was 102 outside. Can't wait to be able to run in the mornings. Last night was the Bachelorette season finale so E came over for dinner and some wine. I now love sweet potatoes and I may have had a little too much to drink. And then decided it was a good time to update my iOS on my iphone. I'm still trying to get my phone back to where it should be. It made me do a complete restore, then I couldn't restore from a current backup and when I was f...

New Goals - Lean

So I finally went back for my follow up body fat test last Tuesday. I didn't really know what to expect. I knew I had lost some weight and I could see more muscle definition, but I wasn't sure. I told myself I would be happy with anything under 30% since I was 33.8 the last time I went. So of course in the lead up to the test I had like 5 cheat meals. Insert eye roll here. Saturday was margaritas and Mexican for dinner. Sunday was brunch and champagne and pizza. And then Monday was more Mexican bc of Sunday. Whoops. Clearly I had to run Tuesday morning before the test. hahahaha Then at lunch time I headed over to visit Heather. The got a new machine that's so supposed to be even more accurate than the BodPod and you don't even have to strip down lol. So my new results were: Weight - 147.6 Body Fat - 27.8 So I lost 6.3 pounds and 6% body fat. Total time elapsed between tests was 16 weeks. This places me in the moderately lean category for women. Moving fo...
