Pity Party, table of one

It's been a pretty rough week.

With everything that's been going on with my family and how busy work is, I chose not to go home for the holidays. And bc of that decision, I ended up spending Christmas Day alone. And the day after. And I. Didn't love it.

I had a few people over for Christmas Eve and that was great. Until it ended. I really did not want to be alone but I was.

One of these days I will figure out a way to make more friends in Houston. I have some. But most are the kinds of friends you see every few weeks for drinks or a run or yoga. I have one friend who I spend the most time with and therefore rely on way too often and probably expect too much from...but that's a story for another day.

And then there's the worry while waiting for my test results. Supposedly 3-5 days for the blood work, 10-14 days for the biopsy. But it's the holidays so I'm not holding my breath.

You can tell it's the holidays bc I have food in the fridge.

I love my dog more than anything, she's always here for my when I need her.

Weekend

I love weekends. I wish they were longer...doesn't everybody? It was quite the lazy weekend too, being that it was so hot out. I ran Sunday...kind of. It was so hot, I hadn't had enough water, or food for that matter, so I cut my run short. And then we opted to eat out instead of cooking. I really need to cook this week. And maybe not drink. Except I have half a bottle of red left over from last night's Bachelorette finale fiesta with E.  Monday. Oh Monday. Cancelled my run once again when the car told me it was 102 outside. Can't wait to be able to run in the mornings. Last night was the Bachelorette season finale so E came over for dinner and some wine. I now love sweet potatoes and I may have had a little too much to drink. And then decided it was a good time to update my iOS on my iphone. I'm still trying to get my phone back to where it should be. It made me do a complete restore, then I couldn't restore from a current backup and when I was f...

I need a new goal

Since running my last half marathon in Dallas my training/running has been less than spectacular. Add that to the trip home and food tour of Delaware County and well I really need to put my foot down and start working out. Which means I need a new goal. I enjoy running. Kind of. Sort of. I know it's good for me, but I am inherently a very lazy person. So much so that if I don't have a reason to get up off the couch, I won't. Today is Wednesday and I haven't run or gone to the gym since Saturday. Sunday was my day off and then I found excuses not to do anything Monday and Tuesday. It needs to stop! I am getting better about my eating, with the exception of my Chuy's slip on Monday. Seriously. I can not live near Chuy's. It's too dangerous. So now I'm the the hunt for my next run to sign up for. I would like it to be within a few hours of here, but I'm not sure what the local road race calendar looks like. I know, I know, I should know all this...

Do I really have to move again?

I am (impatiently) waiting to hear from my apartment complex what my rent will be if I renew my lease at the end of August. I think they're going to raise my rent. A lot. There is no other one bedroom within $300 of what I'm paying right now. I mean, I don't think it's going to go up that much, but I still think it's going to go up. So I have been obsessively looking at apartments online for the last few weeks. Even though I wouldn't be moving for 60+ days. K told me about this site - umovefree.com - that hopefully I can find a place through. Their service is free, and every client that uses UMoveFree to find their new apartment is also offered up to a Free Move or $200 Rebate depending on how much your rent is. This would be amazing bc I don't want to have to ask people to help me move again. I also think I may look for a cheaper option and hopefully one that is closer to work. Those of you not in Houston won't get this, but I would love to l...
