Here's what: May 22

It's been a minute since I've done one of these. Anywho...here's what three things I'm obsessed with this week...


My hamstrings. Ever since the RowStrong class E and I took on Tuesday where we did single leg dead lifts, my hamstrings have been so ridiculously tight. And Wednesday was supposed to be a speed workout? Poor planning on my part. I was supposed to do six 400s again. In the middle of the first one I told myself I needed to at least get to four and then I could see where I was at. Not a good way to start. Halfway through the third I felt my legs go. On the fourth it was all I could do to get across the line. I barely did a 400m cool down even though I went into the workout swearing I would do a mile warmup and cool down. And even though I really don't want to, I know I need to use the foam roller at some point in the near future. Today is another RowStrong day, hopefully it gets better.

Yay for three day weekends! This weekend is Memorial Day and while I don't have this Friday off, I do have off Monday and Next Friday...a three day work week! Sweet. My only plans right now are a movie on Friday and to be at the pool as much as possible on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Here's what three things I'm obsessed with this week... If you haven't seen this photo of Usain Bolt winning the men's 100m at the IAAF World Championships, you might be living under a rock. There are five sessions, and some pretty good events, left to go at Worlds. And Team USA is currently sitting atop the medal table with a total of 10 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze. So...I joined a local running club. And I signed up for the marathon training program! Not that I'm signed up for an actual marathon or anything. Are these really the same shoes?

I was so excited to order the pink nike pegasus sneakers that I was swooning over last week. After everything that happened, it was my way of cheering my self up. Then they came in the mail. Now don't get me wrong, I still love them, but I don't love them as much. In person, they are much darker than the picture would have you believe. They are even darker than the picture I took. Must be something about this pink, it always looks brighter in the photo. They look so similar in these pictures. But in person. It's almost a different shoe. Oh well. At least they were on sale. In unrelated news...I called the insurance company on the premise of telling them I was moving but really just wanting an update on my claim. Well the really nice man at State Farm took my banking info so that I wouldn't miss the check, it would just be direct deposited. And he forwarded my claim to someone else to make sure they get started working on. Fingers crossed maybe they will get it d...

Weekend

I love weekends. I wish they were longer...doesn't everybody? It was quite the lazy weekend too, being that it was so hot out. I ran Sunday...kind of. It was so hot, I hadn't had enough water, or food for that matter, so I cut my run short. And then we opted to eat out instead of cooking. I really need to cook this week. And maybe not drink. Except I have half a bottle of red left over from last night's Bachelorette finale fiesta with E.  Monday. Oh Monday. Cancelled my run once again when the car told me it was 102 outside. Can't wait to be able to run in the mornings. Last night was the Bachelorette season finale so E came over for dinner and some wine. I now love sweet potatoes and I may have had a little too much to drink. And then decided it was a good time to update my iOS on my iphone. I'm still trying to get my phone back to where it should be. It made me do a complete restore, then I couldn't restore from a current backup and when I was f...
