Here's what: May 29

It's been a whole week since I posted my last blog. I never mean for that to happen...I've just been busy with work and then very unmotivated in my personal life. Have gotten a lot of good workouts in between then and now though, so that's good. Anywho...here's what three things I'm obsessed with this week. I made this for dinner last night. I didn't have the lime juice it called for, or the pita bead but it was still pretty good. I even used the sriracha sauce and I am not a huge fan of spicy. If I remember to stop at the store for another avocado on my way home tonight, I will be having this for dinner again bc I have one chicken breast left. Would need to actually purchase this I need shoes to go with this Cute shirt with jeans? I'm going to a friends birthday dinner tomorrow night and I don't know what to wear. Stay somewhat casual or wear a cute dress? Maybe I'll go shopping at lunch... I don't have any big races c

Here's what: May 22

It's been a minute since I've done one of these. Anywho...here's what three things I'm obsessed with this week... My hamstrings. Ever since the RowStrong class E and I took on Tuesday where we did single leg dead lifts, my hamstrings have been so ridiculously tight. And Wednesday was supposed to be a speed workout? Poor planning on my part. I was supposed to do six 400s again. In the middle of the first one I told myself I needed to at least get to four and then I could see where I was at. Not a good way to start. Halfway through the third I felt my legs go. On the fourth it was all I could do to get across the line. I barely did a 400m cool down even though I went into the workout swearing I would do a mile warmup and cool down. And even though I really don't want to, I know I need to use the foam roller at some point in the near future. Today is another RowStrong day, hopefully it gets better. 400s 1 - 1:42 2 - 1:43 3 - 1:47 4 - 1:45 Yay for three

Randomness

Every time I see an image or a quote that sticks with me or fits with a part of my life at that moment I save it to my phone. But nine times out of ten I don't do anything with them. So here's what's been collecting in my phone over the last few months...

6x400s

Who has done a speed workout lately? Anyone, anyone? No? Just me? Ok, cool. Anywho...I don't have any big races coming up, but I am running a 5K next month. And it's been a really long time since I've "raced" in a distance that short. So I jumped online last week and looked up some training plans and took yesterday's workout - 6x400 - from Hal Higdon's 5K Training Plan. I can't tell you the last time I ran a 400m for time. I swear it might have been college. My last "speed" workouts were during half marathon training and included 1200s and maybe an 800 here or there. So I really has no idea what to expect, what pace I thought I should run. When I did those 1200s I was running a two minute quarter. But when I did quarters back in college, I was running 75-90seconds. Sooo...hmmm, where to even begin. I got to the track and did a half mile warmup. I know, I know, should have been a mile. Time for the first quarter. I went out too hard,

Lately 5.7.14

I feel like I haven't been around much lately, and clearly from the lack of posts my blog agrees with me. I haven't been crazy busy...but I have been busy actually having a life. Weird, right? So what have I been doing lately? Well, last Friday was one of my Friday's off and I spent over three hours by the pool. I love me some sun.  Saturday was E's birthday. I picked her up early and we got blow outs, not at Drybar though, they were booked. Some other place called Blow Dry Bar. They did a good job, but the atmosphere is so much better at the other place. A quick trip to Nordstroms later and it was time to get ready for her bday dinner where my margarita was the size of my head.  Several bars and several shots later...I'd say it was a good night. I'm not going to say there wasn't any drama...bc with 16 people it's practically inevitable, but. It's over now.  I love lazy Sunday mornings. Especially when they include brunch. And mimosas. And
