Not Gonna Lie

It was a rough weekend. With everything going on, and what Saturday was the anniversary of, I knew it would be. But I never saw this coming. Complete and utter breakdown. Outside. In front of people. At the pool. I've been on quite the Debbie Downer kick lately, but life hasn't been all bad. I relaxed at the pool for a while Saturday and Sunday and Saturday night I met a few friends at the bar. I really needed that time out of the house and I'm glad for the people who met me out. Now we're into the work week and it's a short week for me. Thinking about heading to Galveston for the day on Friday to relax on the beach, before supporting a friend at a bodybuilding competition Saturday and then eating all the foods with him on Sunday.

That kind of day

It's been one year

It's been one year since my grandfather passed away. And not a single day has gone by that I don't regret not spending time with him at the end. I had booked a weekend flight home for the coming weekend the same day I got the news. Too little, too late. He was a wonderful man, who lived a long and wonderful life. How many people get to live to 95.5? Gone, but never forgotten. I will always remember the way you made me smile.

Update 6.16.16...I mean 7.4.16

It's been pretty boring over here. I started this post almost three weeks ago! I've been feeling pretty run down. There's a lot going on right now. And a lot of it is stressing me out. I'm like a little kid...I "sleep" with the lights on, I refuse to eat most food and all I want is attention. I realized today, mid 5k race, that even though I haven't really been feeling like I need to eat, if I'm going to continue to run outside in this ridiculous Texas heat, then I'm going to have to force myself to eat real food. The thought it slightly nauseating. I've been better at keeping up with yoga. Although while it does keep my muscles loose and makes me feel better, it's 60 mins of me time with nothing to focus on but my issues. BUT! I should have good news tomorrow. :) which will also stress me out haha Anwho...here's what's in my camera roll lately... Best deal ever. Good ni ght for a run My fridge is ...

Jackpot

That’s the thing about being single/alone for a long time: Most of the time you’re cruising along, viewing your life as full rather than deficient. But every so often, the rush of other people’s lives — weddings, babies, new jobs, among other things — makes you feel as if you’re stuck in neutral while everyone else is passing you by. I may not have found my life partner, but I’ve hit the friend jackpot...waiting for me with a glass of bourbon in hand...or in the case a container of bourbon slushies :p

Living Alone

For the past 10 years, with the exception of about 18 months around 2008, I have lived alone.  The best thing about it is that I can literally just run around naked, cook and dance around in my underwear, and I don't have to think about it. When I'm alone, my house is a pants-free zone. The worst thing about living alone ... is that I'm alone! I  love when my place is filled with people. But after they leave, it's soo quiet.  Having the freedom to do whatever I want, play the music I like and watch whatever I want is nice. I really like having 'me' space. But I also love having someone/people over for dinner and having someone to watch TV with and just hang out with. Some days I am too content being alone. I could stay at home all day. I have to MAKE myself go socialize. But at the same time, there are many days when I am climbing the walls because I am bored and want someone to hang out with and/or to get out of the house. Living alone has given ...

Update 6.6.16

I've had quite a bit going on over the past few weeks, but at the same time absolutely nothing. Does that make sense? No? I'll explain soon in another post. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow. But soon. In the meantime, this is what I've been up to in the past few weeks. There has been a lot of cooking, A LOT of bubbles and some running and yoga thrown in for good measure. Stuffed peppers and stuffed mushrooms Treat Yo Self (after hot yoga) Dish Society has a really good happy hour Gouda Queso! The Dunlavy is doing pop up HH now, super cute space Impossible to take a good picture of these two together sharing a bed Exhausted. I swear my place isn't that messy, those are the clothes I worked out in haha One of the best parts of doing social for a bar...when they get a new menu and you need "pictures" Stones Throw #SundayFunday That was one glass of OJ for four bottles...and ...
